A Tool to Test Environmental Performance

Researchers at U-Spatial and their colleagues in Applied Economics, Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering, the Institute on the Environment, and Hawthorne Spatial are developing a geodesign tool that will allow users throughout the world to see the benefits of meeting environmental standards. The tool, called Sustainable Commodity Optimization and Performance Evaluation (SCOPE), is being developed in a project called “Modelling a Path to More Sustainable Landscapes.” Sustainability standards can be applied to specific regions, allowing decision-makers to make the changes that will best optimize results for their area.
