Hayley Borck
Hayley Borck is the Managing Director of the Data Science and AI Hub. She has extensive expertise in AI, specifically in the areas of deep learning, prediction, recognition, and goal reasoning.
With over ten years of experience as an Artificial Intelligence Research Scientist, including six years spent designing and leading projects, Hayley's expertise encompasses Case-Based Reasoning (CBR), Autonomous Systems, Genetic Algorithms (GA), Planning, and Simulation. She has been integral in bringing in over $5 million in projects from DARPA, NIH, and NASA as PI. She earned a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Interactive Intelligence from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011, where she studied under the mentorship of Dr. Ashok Goel. She earned her bachelor's, also in Computer Science, from Eckerd College in 2008. She attributes her success as an AI Researcher to her strong academic background and her analytical and creative personality.
As the Managing Director she is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and administrative leadership, overseeing the DSAI Hub's operations, funding portfolio, research studies, grants, and staff. This role draws directly on her experience successfully leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing complex projects, and her proven ability to secure significant funding. She serves as a vital liaison with interdisciplinary partners and supporting functions. Her notable high tolerance for ambiguity and talent for developing creative solutions are key assets in managing the complexities of a multi-investigator, interdisciplinary research environment
